Of course we all know our kids are only supposed to get like an hour of screen time a day (HA!) - but here are some classic ideas for summer play to get their noses off the iPad! I recommend only having one activity available at a time- gotta keep ‘em guessing!
These playsilks are the absolute best- your kid will find a million different uses for it!
Mini playsilk- I love putting these in my girl's hair!
For building blanket forts!
Fill up a bajillion of these water balloons at once and enjoy 30 minutes of chaos and energy expelling! Bonus energy consumption- having them clean up afterward!
For my fellow introvert mamas- bring the splash pad to you! Come in different size- grab a cocktail and enjoy the splashpad from the comfort of home!
For releasing some of that pent up sibling resentment- also very cathartic for parents
For about 5 years and under a water table is a MUST!
Having written off multiple bubble gadgets on my taxes I can tell you this- kids friggin LOVE bubbles!
Get that imagination going outside and let them set up their own campsite in the yard
Definitely want a fence around this one because we all know those balls are going everywhere- this golf set is great for building coordination too!
For the inevitable rainy afternoon- these drawing tablets for kids are so great. They're the better version of the magnadoodle!
A classic and for a reason- I especially love a jump rope like this one for it's adjustable length so it can grow with your kiddo
Tie dye is a summer family tradition for us. Also a great way to get ahead of holiday gifts from your kiddos to grandparents/aunts/uncles/cousins!
These can attach to a multitude places both indoors and out and are fun to play and read on!
Another good one for rainy days- some air dry clay in a multitude of colors.
It's not summer if your driveway is not in a constant state of fluctuating rainbow drawings!
And glitter chalk- because glitter makes everything better
My girly LOVES making her own popsicles. Use their favorite juice or smash up some fruit and mix with water for a fun diy summer treat
Swim goggles with a large soft comfort band- no more hair snags!
